Why can’t FiLIP provide me with a current location?

Your device requires access to good GPS, WiFi and cellular/mobile signals in order to determine its location. Sometimes one or more of these signals is not available, e.g. when the device is inside a building and cannot see any of the GPS satellites, or if it is in a neighborhood with very little nearby WiFi. If this is the case, the system will try to find the best location possible, but if it cannot determine location with reasonable accuracy, you will see the message “Current location not available”.

If this happens, you will see the date and time of the last known location.

You can wait a few moments and try an on-demand location by pressing the circular arrow on the map screen in the FiLIP app.

Of course, you can always call the device at any time as well.
